WWCCN, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, GIZ, and Kvinna till
Kvinna, has successfully organized and convened two consecutive editions of the
Rwanda Conference on Gender and Climate Change (RCGCC). In 2025, two
additional strategic partners joined the initiative: GGGI and Certa Foundation.

The core objective of RCGCC 2025 was to bridge the gap between research-based
evidence, policy development, and practical implementation by transforming
gender–climate research and community knowledge into actionable policy pathways.

One of the most significant outcomes of RCGCC 2025 was the adoption of the
Conference Communiqué, which serves as the policy anchor of the conference
outcomes. The communiqué translates key discussions and recommendations from the
conference into an operational accountability framework, guiding stakeholders toward
concrete actions for advancing gender-responsive climate policies and programs.
