The official underscored the importance of CSO participation in these events, which would serve as an effective means to amplify their voices in the localisation of climate projections. Moreover, the events may provide a platform for members of the Global Network of Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) to present their concept of localising climate projections.
  • During the meeting, participants expressed a proposal that Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) present should organize a field visit to commence the implementation of localizing climate projections to engage directly with the population. The subsequent meeting is planned to feature CSOs (both GNDR members and non-members), the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion, Meteo Rwanda, the media and local leaders. Considering the significance of the localisation of climate projections at grassroots level, CSOs agreed to provide financial support for the event as a way to move forward from the meeting.
